Candidates That Have Announced as of August 11th: 

  1. Trevor Barry - Is the President of North Quadra Community Association,  He ran in 2018 and placed 15th out of 18.  He is also a good sax player
  2. Susan Brice - Incumbent first elected to Saanich council in 2005.   Former Sanich South MLA and minister 2001-2005.  Mayor of Oak Bay 1985-90.  CRD director 1985-90 and 2005 - 2022.  CRD chair 1988-89.    SD #61 trustee 1975-80, board chai 1978-89.  Lives in Broadmead.  Wikipedia entry
  3. Judy Brownoff - Incumbent first elected in 1993. Came 6th in 2018
  4. Kathleen Burton - ran in 2018 and came 9th
  5. Nathalie Chambers - Incumbent elected in 2018 placing 7th.  Ran in 2017 by-electon and came 3rd
  6. Zac de Vries - Incumbent elected in 2018 coming 5th
  7. Spencer Evans
  8. Karen Harper - Incumbent first elected in 2017.  Came 8th in 2018.  Won the 2017 by-election
  9. Sasha Izard - lives in Cadboro Bay area?
  10. Basil Langevin
  11. Mark Leiren-Young - He has published numerous books including the :Leacock winning "Never Shoot the Stampede Queen".  "Orcas Everywhere" received the 2020 City of Victoria’s Children’s Book Prize.  He lives in the Shelbourne area.  Wikipedia entryIMDb entry
  12. Vernon Lord - Treasurer of the Camosun Community Association.  He ran 2018 coming 18th out of 18 candidates
  13. Greg Matte - Retired RCAF Brigadier General
  14. Jordan MacDougall - currently on the UVic Mens' Eight Rowing Team.  He ran in the 2021 federal election as a Green in the Alberta riding of Peace River Westlock.
  15. Mark Neufeld - ran as a BC Green in the 2017 Provincial Election in Saanich South
  16. Teale Phelps Bondaroff - He is on the board of the Greater Victoria Placemaking Network.  As part of the GVPN he has been responsible for the little free libraries.  He ran in 2018 coming 13th
  17.  Colin Plant - Incumbent first elected in 2014.  Elected CRD Chair in 2019.  Lives in Royal Oak.  Came 2nd in 2018
  18. Art Pollard - ran in 2018 general election coming 17th Court of 18. and 2017 by-election coming 10th our of 10.  Lives in the Quadra area
  19. Jordan Reichart - ran in the 2017 and 2020 Provincial elections as an independent in Victoria Beacon Hill.  Deputy leader of the Animal Protection Party of Canada.  Ran in the federal riding of Victoria in the 2015, 2019, and 2021 for the Animal Protection Party, 
  20. Rishi Sharma - ran as a BC Liberal in Saanich South provincial riding in 2013 and 2020,  If elected he would be the first Indo-Canadian elected to Saanich council.  Lives in Gordon Head.  Ran 2018 and placed 11th

Saanich was formed as municipality in 1906.  In 1951 Ward 6 separated to form Central Saanich.
