Lana Popham was just on CFAX and announced she is seeking the NDP nomination in the provincial riding of Saanich South.
The NDP won the former version of this riding in 2005, by MLA David Cubberly has decided to retire after a single term.
The new version of the riding loses the Tillicum Gorge neighbourhood, a strong NDP area. It also gains a small chunk of Oak Bay Gordon Head. The net result is that the riding is 650 votes more Liberal than last time. The NDP only won the riding by 429 votes last time.
I have to also wonder what happens to Lana Popham's run for Saanich council?
