I am a fan of the CBC TV show Dragon's Den. The show exists in one form or another around the world but originally started in Japan in 2001 though their version only lasted three years. The UK version is the longest running with 10 seasons but the Canadian version, at episode 107 as of this week, has aired the most episodes of any version.
Dragon's Den will be holding in person auditions at Victoria Marriott Inner Harbour, 728 Humboldt St, Victoria BC from 10 am to 5 pm on February 2nd.
There are many good ideas in this town and it would be nice to see more of them on the program. I would like to see some of the members of VIATeC or businesses from the Vancouver Island Tech Park on the show. I have some ideas, but they are only ideas and I would have to figure out to make them work for the producers of the show so that they would consider putting me on the program.
Maybe it is time for someone in BC to take on the idea of something like Dragon's Den and produce a BC based version. Let us say that CBC worked with CHEK TV in Victoria and did a BC only version. It would make it easier for BC based businesses to access the same opportunity as the national program.
Dragon's Den Ireland works in a country with a similar population of BC. We have the people in BC that could be the Dragon's on the program.
