E and N days this weekend

Competing with the Dragonboat festival this weekend are the E and N days at the Roundhouse in Vic West.

Things are going on from 9 am to 5 pm on Saturday and Sunday. There are also things going on at the Station House Pub in Langford from 10 am to 5 pm Saturday only.

There will be rail service between the two locations on Saturday, though it is first come first served. They are limited to 72 people per ride, so I assume that they are using a Budd car.

Sounds like you will be able to ride on a speeder in Vic West.

Sounds like there will be displays from interest groups and some historical stuff.

As much as I love trains, I am not likely to make it because I am volunteering at the Dragon boats. I also trying to avoid stress and frustration and should avoid the light rail for Victoria fanatics - I have a very thin skin at the moment in relation to the economically illiterate.

We went to the one in Langford. What a disgusting farce! I still haven't found out who was supposed to be organising but I have a few words for them. (I use the word "organising" loosely, since I saw no organisation.)

There were two tents that, from the only signage I could see, were advertising housing developments. One was giving out hot dogs and drink, though nobody was manning the drinks. There was a kids' tiny train ride, and a trolley parked half way across the parking lot.
Other than a radio station on location, that's all there was, as far as I could see.
Some of the helpers who were aimlessly wandering were telling people they needed tickets for the train, others were contradicting that.
Families were leaving with small children in tears after finding that their hour wait was in vain, since they didn't have the tickets they'd been told they needed, and the train was full.
A red carpet decorated with helium balloons led from a gate toward the track so, naturally, people assumed that was where they were to line up. No signage nor helper was in place to tell them they had to walk down to the actual station.
Some people were parking at the station and waiting there. Again, no signage or helper to tell them they had to walk up to the Stationhouse, get a ticket if they could, then walk back to wait.
The "1pm" train arrived at the station at 12:20, just as we arrived. We left in disgust at 12:40 and some people were still waiting at the red carpet while another group had been clustered around the door of the train for 20 minutes, baking in the hot sun. I have no idea how much longer they had to stand there before being let aboard.

The whole thing was a farce, pure and simple. I'm extremely disgusted.

Just an edit on my previous comment;
"Families were leaving with small children in tears after finding that their hour wait was in vain, since they didn't have the tickets they'd been told they needed, and the train was full."

The word "needed" should have read "didn't need".
