Since the JSB is in the news today because of the big boost in the estimated cost, I thought I would address the cost estimate issue for the Craigflower Bridge.
At the moment the estimate of the cost of the project is just over $10 million - I do not have the details of the estimate and I am not certain of the bidding process that will be used for the contractor, but I think it is safe to assume there will be a cost over run.
Realistically $12-$13 million is a reasonable estimate of the what the cost of the Craigflower Bridge. That extra money will have to come from View Royal and Saanich, though the shortfall is not a big impact in the overall budgets of either council.
