Interesting event hosted by MLA Lana Popham

This is an interesting event hosted by local MLA Lana Popham, the timing for me does not work otherwise I would go.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Friends,

I’m writing to invite you to a community gathering this Tuesday evening, October 23rd, from 6-8pm.

We’ll start with a gourmet meal featuring local foods, and then there will be a 10% shift presentation by Barry O’Neill, President of CUPE-BC.

Barry’s 10% Shift concept is based on a simple argument: our local economy – and therefore our quality of life – is greatly improved if we choose to spend even a little more of our income at local, independent businesses. He is supported in this position by the Canadian Federation of Independent Business.

Tasty food and interesting ideas...and tickets are only $10!

The event will be held at the Salvation Army Citadel (4030 Douglas St, north of McKenzie Ave). Get your tickets early to avoid disappointment – my community gathering last year sold out. Free child-care (age 5-12) by reservation only.

Tickets are available at my Saanich South MLA Community Office, 4085 Quadra (@ Nicholson, north of McKenzie), 9:30am-5:00pm, Monday to Thursday. You can also reserve by phone: 250.479.4154

Hope to see you there!

Lana
