Greater Saanich

Given that Saanich has 114 000 people and that Victoria only has 82 500, why are we calling this region Victoria at all? The time has come to call the region Greater Saanich. Add to this the population of North and Central Saanich and you get to 142 000 people living in a Saanich out of 341 000 total.

Much of what is considered Victoria does not sit in Victoria but in Saanich or North Saanich. UVic and Camosun are both in Saanich. The airport and ferry terminal are in North Saanich.
